What tools do I need for an engine swap?
I cant come to a final conclusion. I got both cars (two 91 MR2s) for my engine swap but now I need tools. What do I absolutely need to be able to successfully complete the engine swap? Besides Engine Hoist, what else?
just when you think you have them all you’re always going to be missing something but wrenches metric and american screwdrivers flathead and phillips / straight sockets amer/met ratchet and extensions pry bars/ pliers /universal sockets 3/8 drive and 1/2 inch drive on all sockets and ratchets and extensions
A comprehensive socket set, a trolley jack (to support the gearbox) and sufficient knowledge.

If you are asking that question then I guarantee you will not have the knowledge to do it properly, save some money and let a licenced mechanic that you trust do the swap.

If you don’t have the tools you don’t have the knowledge to do it right. Cars get dangerous to all of us when people think they are mechanics.
